So-Called Australia: Banner Actions in Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners in Indonesia

Received on 04.05.2020:

On the May Day weekend, anarchists in the cities of Narrm / Melbourne and Gimuy / Cairns acted in solidarity with their comrades facing persecution by the state in Indonesia.

In the city of Narrm / Melbourne, on May Day, anarchists placed a banner on the entrance gate to the Indonesian Consulate. The banner read: “Beware We Bite Back” in Bahasa, “Take Away Our Paint and See What Ya Get!”  in English and “Solidarity with Anarchists in Java”, in Bahasa.

On Sunday, May 3rd, in the city of Gimuy / Cairns, a small city in the tropics without any symbolic locations pertaining to the Indonesian state, anarchists opted to hang a banner in a local park. The banner read: “Anarchist solidarity from Australia for Tangerang-Malang anarchists and West Papuan political prisoners in Indonesia” in Bahasa, and “The Indonesian State is the Virus” in English.

Freedom for all anarchist prisoners in Indonesia!
End the Indonesian state witch hunt against anarchists!
Freedom for all West Papuan political prisoners in Indonesia!
Free West Papua!
