Update from the gathering outside the hellhole of P. Ralli on New Year’s Eve
On the night of New Year’s Eve, about 150 people met outside the Petrou Ralli detention centre to change the year together with those in the hands of the state and its mechanisms, those who have been deprived of freedom and dignity because of the misanthropic laws of every capitalistic state that aim to exploit, subjugate, and discipline migrants in concentration camps inside their territory.
Riot police, unlike recent years, had been arrayed along the main entrance on Petrou Ralli, blocking us from getting nearer the external walls of the hellhole. Also, the prisoners had been moved to the cells in the back, which deprived us of all contact with them.
We want to believe that our slogans, which were heard throughout the intervention, and the multitude of fireworks managed to reach the ears of the prisoners, and that we were able, even for a little while, to disrupt the conditions of isolation, imprisonment, and death imposed by the jailers to the prisoners of Petrou Ralli.
Solidarity with those behind bars until the demolition of every prison, of every concentration camp.
