The actions were carried out in solidarity with Kurdish political prisoner and leader of the PKK (Kurdistan Workers’ Party), Abdullah Öcalan and against the International Conspiracy that resulted in his capture in 1999.
Excerpts from the Revenge Units statement about the actions in Wan:
“On December 13th, we carried out a sabotage action with a home-made explosive device against an enemy vehicle traveling in the Edremit Elmali area in Wan. Despite the destruction of the enemy vehicle, we were unable to clarify any injured or dead enemies.”
“On December 15th, hand-made explosives were thrown at enemy contractors in the Xaçort region of Wan.”
On December 19th, the Şehit Savaş Amed Revenge Unit organized a protest action against the Turkish police who were occupying a school in the Şehitlik district in Yenişehir, Amed and using it as an operations base.
